Новый инструмент Cowork от Anthropic: ИИ переосмысливает взаимодействие с данными в здравоохранении Translation: New Tool Cowork from Anthropic: AI Redefines Data Interaction in Healthcare

Anthropic has created a new tool known as Cowork, which is marketed as a more user-friendly alternative to Claude Code.

This service is integrated into the Claude Desktop application, allowing users to specify a particular folder where the bot can access or modify files. Additional instructions can be given through the regular chat interface.

Cowork resembles a standalone version of Claude Code but requires significantly less technical expertise for setup.

Built on the Claude Agent SDK, Cowork utilizes the same underlying model as Claude Code.

The folder organization feature enables straightforward management of the files that the new tool can access. Since the application does not necessitate command line or virtual environment usage, it is less complex for users who lack technical skills.

Initially, Cowork is available to Max subscribers, while others can join a waiting list.

The service opens up «a new world of potential use cases.» Anthropic provided an example of generating an expense report from a folder containing receipt photos. Users of Claude Code utilize the system for media file management, social media post scanning, or conversation analysis.

Cowork is designed to perform various tasks without user intervention, which presents certain risks if the tool receives unclear or contradictory instructions.

Anthropic has warned of the possibility of executing unintended commands or deleting files. The company recommends using precise and unambiguous prompts.

Launched in November 2024, Claude Code quickly became one of the company’s most successful products. It enables direct use of the Claude AI model within the development process, rather than existing as a peripheral chat tool.

Following the introduction of ChatGPT Health by OpenAI, Anthropic announced the release of Claude for Healthcare—a suite of tools for healthcare providers and patients.

This service allows for the synchronization of health data from smartphones, smartwatches, and other platforms. Its capabilities include:

Anthropic has added «connectors» that enable the AI to access platforms and databases, streamlining the research and report generation process.

«Doctors often report spending more time on documentation and paperwork than on seeing patients,» said Anthropic’s Chief Product Officer Mike Krieger.

For them, paperwork is more of an administrative responsibility rather than requiring specialized training and expertise. Therefore, the process should be automated, according to the AI company.

People are increasingly relying on large language models (LLMs) for medical inquiries. OpenAI reported that 230 million individuals discuss health matters with ChatGPT each week.

Notably, in September 2025, researchers from Harvard Medical School introduced an AI model capable of identifying precise gene and drug combinations to reverse pathological conditions in human cells.
