Обновление Rio: Polygon достигает 5000 TPS и меняет экономическую модель транзакций Translation: Headline: Rio Upgrade: Polygon Achieves 5000 TPS and Changes Transaction Economic Model

The Polygon Labs team has deployed the Rio upgrade on the mainnet of Polygon. This upgrade aims to enhance the speed, reliability, and scalability of the blockchain, particularly for payment solutions.

The upgrade boosts the network’s capacity to 5,000 transactions per second and enables near-instant transaction finality. A significant change is the removal of the risk of blockchain reorganizations, which increases reliability for payment systems.

At the core of Rio are two pivotal technologies:

The upgrade also revamped the economic model. Transaction fees are now redistributed between the block producer and other validators. This enables lightweight node operators to earn rewards without the need for expensive hardware.

Rio is part of Polygon’s long-term scaling strategy known as Gigagas, which aims to achieve a capacity of tens of thousands of transactions per second.

It’s worth noting that in July, the POL token appreciated by more than 8% in anticipation of the Heimdall v2 upgrade.
