Статуя Сатоши Накамото в сердце Уолл-стрит: символ децентрализации и инноваций Statue of Satoshi Nakamoto in the Heart of Wall Street: A Symbol of Decentralization and Innovation

A statue of the anonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, has been unveiled at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

The artwork was crafted by Italian artist Valentina Picozzi.

*“This is such an achievement — even in our wildest dreams, we never thought that a statue of Satoshi Nakamoto would be placed in this location! The sixth of 21 Satoshi Nakamoto statues has found its home at the NYSE,”* she commented.

The installation was organized by Twenty One Capital. Trading of its shares commenced on December 9, and within the first day, the stock prices *experienced a downturn of nearly 20%*.

Exchange representatives described the statue as “a common ground between emerging systems and established institutions.” The event coincided with the anniversary of the Bitcoin white paper release, which Nakamoto launched on December 10, 2008.

Picozzi is the creator of the art project Satoshigallery, introduced in 2020. The initiative’s website emphasizes a belief that:

*“Images create culture, culture shapes values, and values define the future.”*

Through visual representations, Picozzi educates audiences about the history and philosophy of Bitcoin. She has previously installed five statues of the first cryptocurrency’s creator in various countries including Switzerland, El Salvador, Japan, Vietnam, and the United States (Miami).

*“The statue is meant to convey a sense of disappearance to the viewer — this feeling that the inventor remains between the lines. To this day, Satoshi exists within the lines of Bitcoin code, enabling humanity to possess the first decentralized payment system,”* the monument’s description states.

In 2018, a virtual monument to the creator of Bitcoin was established in Kyiv. This installation marked the first in a global project to create augmented reality cities under the auspices of the Satoshi Nakamoto Republic.

In 2021, a statue of Nakamoto was placed in Budapest, Hungary.

Picozzi plans to install 21 sculptures globally, a number that symbolizes Bitcoin’s capped supply of 21 million coins.

Looking ahead, in October 2024, HBO studio has promised to unveil the identity of Bitcoin’s creator in a film about the inventor of the first cryptocurrency. The documentary’s authors suggested it might be Peter Todd, but he has *denied the claim*.

In February 2025, Sean Murray, editor of deBanked, claimed that Jack Dorsey is the person behind Nakamoto’s mask. He compiled an impressive list of facts, dates, and coincidences supposedly supporting his theory.

However, the true identity of Bitcoin’s creator remains unknown.

In April 2025, attorney James Murphy filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, demanding the disclosure of information about Nakamoto.
