Успешный запуск хардфорка Fusaka в тестнете открывает новые горизонты для Ethereum Successful Launch of the Fusaka Hard Fork in the Testnet Opens New Horizons for Ethereum

Ethereum developers have activated the Fusaka upgrade in the Hoodi testnet. The mainnet launch is scheduled for December 3, according to ConsenSys.

Previously, the upgrade was successfully deployed in both Holesky and Sepolia.

The implementation of Fusaka is planned to occur in three phases. After the upgrade is activated in the mainnet on December 17, developers will launch the Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) aimed at increasing the capacity of BLOB objects. The second phase will commence on January 7 and will focus on further expanding their capacity.

Next, experts will direct their attention to the upcoming hard fork Glamsterdam, which is also part of the Ethereum technical roadmap’s phase known as The Surge.

The goal of the upgrade is to implement fundamental enhancements that will improve the scalability, efficiency, and security of the second-largest cryptocurrency network by market capitalization.

The Fusaka upgrade will implement more than 10 EIPs, with the key one being EIP-7594, through which the PeerDAS protocol will be introduced to Ethereum. This technology will allow validators to verify small fragments instead of entire BLOB objects, improving data accessibility throughout the ecosystem.

Co-founder Vitalik Buterin highlighted this approach as unique, stating that PeerDAS is «the key to scaling» the Layer 2 ecosystem.

Fusaka will also provide more than a twofold increase in the gas limit at the first level, significantly enhancing the network’s throughput. User Leo Lanza noted that after Fusaka, transaction processing speeds could reach 12,000 transactions per second (TPS).

Other important improvements include:

At the time of writing, the second-largest cryptocurrency is trading around $4,000, having dropped 1.9% in the last 24 hours.

Analysts from VanEck believe that Fusaka will have a significant impact on Ethereum. They noted that the upgrade will «strengthen the monetary properties of the cryptocurrency» through several key mechanisms:

*“A new investment logic is forming: Ethereum is gradually transforming from an income-generating asset through fees into a full-fledged currency,”* the experts emphasized.

Some community members anticipate that the upgrade will propel the leading altcoin to $10,000 in the current cycle. This forecast is shared by analysts from XWIN Research and BitMine chairman Tom Lee.

It’s worth noting that Ethereum developer Federico Carrone has warned about the dangers corporations pose to the ecosystem of the second-largest cryptocurrency.
