90% Gamers Recently Engaged with Remakes or Remasters, According to Analysts

The consulting firm MTM has explored the topic of game remasters and remakes. The findings of their study were published in a report titled «Remakes vs. Innovation: Is the Past the Future of Gaming?».

The researchers surveyed 1,500 gamers from the U.S. and the U.K., focusing on both console and PC players. They defined remasters as upgraded versions of classic games that do not alter the core gameplay, while remakes are described as reinterpretations developed from the ground up.
