Lifintsev Compares Competitive Landscape of World Championships in Budapest and Singapore

The swimmer and world champion in both short and long course events, **[Myron Lifintsev](https://www.example.com)**, has drawn a comparison between the levels of competition in Budapest and Singapore. He previously secured five gold medals at the 2024 World Championships in a 25-meter pool and recently claimed the top position in the relay at the 2025 World Championships (50 meters).

«From the semifinals and even the prelims, I realized that the competition here is on a completely different level compared to Budapest. The final was incredibly tight, closing within three-tenths of a second – that surprised me and made it clear that there would be fierce competition. It was a learning experience. As for the most valuable medal? Definitely among the relays, but I currently hold the individual medal from Budapest in higher regard. As for recognition? That was fleeting fame. Even though I put in a lot of effort, I am still a complete novice in this field and don’t understand much about media presence. To this day, very few people know who I am. If you ask a random passerby, they probably won’t recognize me.

I’ll only celebrate later, if at all. Right now, I’m unsure if I will feel joyful. There’s still one more relay to go, and I need to focus on maintaining my form for the next three days to deliver a good performance on the final day. We’ll do our best. As for resting? I’ll just grab a meal and get some sleep,» Lifintsev’s words were relayed by correspondent Rustam Imamov from «Championat».
