Manchester City Initiates Talks for Gianluigi Donnarumma Amid Edersons Potential Exit

Manchester City is looking to acquire Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from PSG if their current first-choice keeper, Ederson, departs. This information comes from RMC Sport. Earlier reports suggested that Ederson might transfer to Galatasaray.

According to sources, Manchester City has already initiated discussions with Donnarumma’s representatives, with Pep Guardiola expressing a keen interest in the player. Securing an agreement with Donnarumma should not pose a challenge, as he is highly regarded by the club.

It’s worth noting that Donnarumma’s contract with PSG runs until the summer of 2026. However, the sources indicate that there is no agreement in place between the player and the club for an extension.

On August 9, PSG announced the signing of goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier from Lille. It has been suggested that Donnarumma must leave the club by August 31, or he risks missing out on playing time for the 2025/2026 season, as head coach Luis Enrique has already warned him.
