S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was released on PC and Xbox Series at the end of 2024. The game received mixed reviews; while many of the strengths of the original trilogy were successfully adapted to a modern format, it was plagued by significant technical issues, and many promised features were missing. Notably, the absence of the A-Life system, which governed the behavior of factions in the open world, was particularly disappointing.
