Marko Reflects on Missed Opportunity: Hülkenbergs Potential to Score Points with Red Bull

Red Bull’s motorsport advisor, **Helmut Marko**, recalled the missed opportunity for German driver **Nico Hülkenberg** to join the Austrian team. According to Marko, Hülkenberg was in talks to move to Red Bull at the end of 2020.

«At that time, he seemed to be one of the commentators on Servus TV [owned by Red Bull], and we had already established a rapport and begun discussions. However, after Pérez won the race in Bahrain, I believe all the attention shifted to him.

I think it could have worked out because the two of them [Nico and Max Verstappen] get along very well. And yes, Hülkenberg would have consistently scored points and could have finished in high positions with our car,» Marko told F1i, referencing comments made to F1-Insider.
