Kasper Ruud Reflects on His Doubles Experience at the 2025 Laver Cup

The 12th-ranked player in the world, Norwegian tennis star Kasper Ruud, shared his thoughts on participating in the 2025 Laver Cup, recalling his experiences playing doubles with Greek player Stefanos Tsitsipas and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.

«I have a very clear memory of last year. I don’t often play doubles, but on the second day, I partnered with him (Tsitsipas. — Editor’s note), and we lost. I returned to play again the following morning [with Alcaraz]. You’re never out of the game until the last point is played. There have been times when Europe was dominant, times when Team World took charge, and then there were very close moments. Fortunately, last year, that close match ended in our favor,» Ruud said, according to the official Laver Cup website.

In the previous year’s Laver Cup, Ruud and Tsitsipas were defeated by Ben Shelton and Alejandro Tabilo with a score of 1-6, 2-6, after which Kasper and Carlos Alcaraz triumphed over Shelton and Frances Tiafoe (6-2, 7-6 (8-6)). Ultimately, Team Europe triumphed over Team World with a score of 13-11.
