Halos Art Director Exits After 17 Years, Hints at Internal Conflict

After seventeen years of working on the **Halo** series, art director **Glenn Israel** has announced his departure from **Halo Studios**. The developer left a cryptic message, suggesting that the parting was not entirely amicable.

**Israel** initially joined the franchise in 2008 with **Bungie** and continued his career at the newly formed **343 Industries** after Halo transitioned to the new studio in 2010. Over the years, he contributed to numerous projects within the franchise, starting with **Halo 3: ODST**, becoming one of the most seasoned artists in the company.

In his LinkedIn post, the developer confirmed that he is no longer associated with **Halo** and hinted that he would reveal further details in due time.

Although **Israel** did not elaborate on the reasons for his departure, his mention of «evidence» and a promise to share «the full story» implies that his exit may have been linked to some internal conflict within the studio.

Meanwhile, **Halo Studios** is gearing up for its next major event. On October 24, during the Halo World Championship, the team will hold a presentation to discuss the future of the series. The head of competitive initiatives, **Tahir Hasandjekic**, promised a «deep discussion that you won’t want to miss.»

It’s worth noting that last year, **343 Industries** rebranded itself as **Halo Studios** and confirmed that it is developing several games on Unreal Engine 5. The latest main installment in the series, **Halo Infinite**, was released in 2021. While the single-player campaign received positive reviews, the multiplayer component struggled to retain players for an extended period.
