Russian national team forward and Zenit player, **[Maxim Glushenkov](https://www.example.com)**, shared his thoughts on whether he sees the national team’s head coach, **Valery Karpin**, as a «strict father figure» or someone who’s «a buddy.»

«I would say the latter. He connects well with everyone. He has a good balance—both fun and strict when needed,» Glushenkov told **RIA Novosti Sport**.

Karpin has been the head coach of the Russian national team since 2021. During his tenure, the team has played 27 matches across various tournaments, winning 19, drawing seven, and suffering just one defeat.
