Simu Liu Reveals Draft Script for Sleeping Dogs Movie Adaptation

Hollywood actor Simu Liu has shared some exciting news: a draft script for the potential film adaptation of Sleeping Dogs is now complete. He announced this on his former Twitter account, accompanying the update with an adorable photo of his sleeping dog.

Earlier this year, actor Donnie Yen confirmed the cancellation of the movie adaptation of *Sleeping Dogs*, which had been announced back in 2017. However, the film’s story did not end there, as Simu Liu, known to audiences for his role as the superhero Shang-Chi in the Marvel film, stepped in to revive the project. Liu has been expressing interest in *Sleeping Dogs* since 2021, and it seems that he has successfully navigated the copyright issues. Unfortunately, details about the film are still sparse, and the identity of the screenwriter remains undisclosed.

While it might be premature to speculate about the cast, it is reasonable to assume that Liu himself may take on the lead role. *Sleeping Dogs* tells the story of Wei Shen, an undercover cop who infiltrates Hong Kong triads, struggling to balance his life as a criminal and that of a law enforcer.

As for the future of this adaptation, more information will be revealed in due time. Following the confirmation of the script, the project is expected to move into the production phase.
