Tarasova Casts Doubt on the Olympic Chances of Fournier Bodry and Sizeron

The esteemed coach of the USSR in figure skating, **Tatiana Tarasova**, expressed her belief that the chances of French figure skaters **Laurence Fournier Beaudry** and **Guillaume Cizeron** becoming Olympic champions at the Games in Italy in February 2026 are low, as the ice dancers need to improve one of their routines. However, Tarasova acknowledged that the athletes’ technical skills are commendably high.

«I don’t believe they will win the Olympic Games. It’s essential to closely observe their competitors. I must say that their free dance was a divine gift to us all. No one has performed like that, is performing, or will perform. What they achieved is truly unique; only they can deliver it. While some individual elements could be executed by others, the overall performance is unmatched.

It’s possible that they will enhance their routine before the Olympics. Their original dance didn’t come off as innovative as the free dance. They need to make adjustments to it, and I believe they are capable of doing so. Their technical excellence is unquestionable, along with their unique artistry,» Tarasova told **VseProSport**.

Previously, Fournier Beaudry and Cizeron secured victory at the first stage of the ISU Grand Prix in figure skating.

The skaters teamed up in 2025. Before that, Cizeron competed alongside Gabriella Papadakis, with whom he claimed Olympic gold in Beijing (2022). In December 2024, Papadakis and Cizeron announced their retirement from competitive skating, but Cizeron later chose to continue his athletic career.
