Alcaraz Expresses Disappointment After Early Exit at Paris Masters

The six-time Grand Slam champion and world number one, Spanish tennis player **Carlos Alcaraz**, commented on his defeat in the second round of the Masters in Paris, France. He lost to British player **Cameron Norrie** with a score of 6:4, 3:6, 4:6.

**—** I had a lot of training here, and I felt great, moving well on the court and hitting the ball nicely. My goals and strategies were clear. However, even in the first set that I won, I sensed I could do much more than I did. In the second set, I tried to step up my game, but the opposite happened. I felt even worse. I think I need to give credit to Cam [Norrie] because he didn’t allow me to get back into the match. I had a few break points that could have really helped me, but I missed them due to simple mistakes. I’m very disappointed with my performance today; it is what it is.

**— How do you think you’ll recover for the last three tournaments of the year, given that you’re not in the best physical condition right now?**
**—** Well, I’m not sure. I’ll try to prepare as best as I can and head to Turin for the Davis Cup—these are crucial tournaments ahead for me. Right now, I just want to go home and see what happens. But I will definitely train and prepare to avoid repeating this situation, said Alcaraz at the press conference.
