Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 + 4 Excludes Career Mode, Sparking Fan Discontent

Journalists from Kotaku have shared some disappointing news regarding the upcoming combined remake of the third and fourth installments of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series. According to their sources, the developers of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will not be including the career mode from the fourquel.

A notable feature of the career mode in Pro Skater 4 was the freedom to skate around locations and complete challenges from NPCs without any time constraints. Instead, players will be presented with a series of individual missions that are limited by a global timer of two minutes, similar to what was seen in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2. However, for those who simply want to skate at their leisure, a separate exploration mode will be added.

Unsurprisingly, this announcement has disappointed fans of the original game, who have taken to social media to express their concerns. They believe this decision undermines the unique qualities of the fourth installment, making the remake essentially an updated version of Pro Skater 3 with added content from Pro Skater 4.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is set to launch on July 11 for PC (Steam, Microsoft Store, Battle.net), PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, without Russian localization. The game will also be available on Game Pass from launch day. Pre-orders on all platforms except for Switch come with a bonus exclusive demo for June.
