Karen Khachanov Withdraws from ATP-250 Tournament in Athens, Netherlands Botic van de Zandschulp Takes His Place

The 14th-ranked Russian tennis player, **Karen Khachanov**, will not participate in the ATP 500 tournament in Athens, Greece, which is scheduled to take place from November 2 to 8. His spot in the main draw will be filled by Dutch player **Botic van de Zandschulp**.

Competing in Athens will be Serbian star **Novak Djokovic**, a 24-time Grand Slam champion and currently ranked fifth in the world. He will be the top seed for the tournament.

In 2025, Karen Khachanov reached the final of the Masters series event in Toronto, Canada, where he lost to American Ben Shelton in three sets, finishing with scores of 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 6-7 (3-7). Together with Andrey Rublev, Khachanov also reached the finals in the doubles category at the ATP-250 event in Hong Kong and the ATP-500 tournament in Beijing.
