Memorial Plaque Unveiled in St. Petersburg to Honor Legendary Zenit Coach Yuri Morozov

A memorial plaque honoring former Zenit head coach **Yuri Morozov** has been unveiled in Saint Petersburg. This news was shared via the official Telegram channel of the club located by the Neva River.

«The ceremonial event celebrating the legendary coach of the blue-white-blues took place on November 1, 2025. This occasion marks the 45th anniversary of Zenit winning the first-ever national championship medals in the club’s history.

The commemorative plaque can be found at 13 Tverskaya Street, where the esteemed coach lived. Morozov managed the team from 1977 to 1981, returned in 1991, and again led it from 2000 to 2002.

Events honoring Zenit’s bronze medal victory in the 1980 season will continue at the Gazprom Arena: before the match against Lokomotiv, players from the legendary squad will meet with fans, share insights about 1980s football, and answer questions from the audience.
