Sonic Labs переходит на дефляционную токеномику и акцентирует внимание на фундаментальных показателях English translation: Sonic Labs shifts to deflationary tokenomics and focuses on fundamental metrics

Mitchell Demeter, the head of Sonic Labs, announced that the company will shift its focus from «hype» to fundamental metrics, revamp its tokenomics to establish a deflationary mechanism, and enhance business development in the U.S.

The new strategy for the project was revealed on August 31.

Demeter took on the role of CEO in October. According to him, the first month was spent analyzing the company’s operations. The team has now moved on to executing the plan.

The project leader emphasized that Sonic Labs has a «healthy treasury reserve and no liquidity issues.» However, he acknowledged that communication with the community has slowed recently, explaining that this was necessary to first understand the internal processes before providing updates on results.

«Price reflects confidence. It indicates how well we are performing and how much trust the market has in us. Validators, developers, token holders, and we at Sonic Labs all care about the value,” said Demeter.

He noted that «Sonic Labs is an infrastructure provider and not a venture fund or an application development studio.» The company’s success directly correlates with the increase in network activity and the achievements of developers who utilize its technology.

He emphasized that «the race for speed and TPS is over.» The focus will now shift to functionality, ease of use for developers, and compatibility with other networks through the implementation of EIPs and its own SIPs.

A significant change will be the revision of the tokenomics. The company will establish a new commission monetization structure (FeeM), introducing reward tiers for developers ranging from 15% to 90%.

10% of network fees will be allocated to validators, while the remaining portion will be burned to create deflationary pressure on the native token S. Details will be put to on-chain voting.

At the time of writing, S is trading at $0.15, having increased by 3.8% in the last 24 hours.

Sonic Labs will also expand its presence in the U.S. and plans to open an office in New York. The company is currently hiring for marketing, sales, and business development departments to attract institutional clients.

Demeter added that he is engaged in «active negotiations with leading global firms» regarding ETFs and other initiatives.

Recall that in March, the former head of the company, Andre Cronje, announced that instead of a dollar-pegged algorithmic stablecoin, the developers at Sonic Labs plan to launch a «mathematically bounded numeric dirham.»
