Nintendo Unveils First Look at Zelda and Link from Upcoming Movie Adaptation

Today, the team at Nintendo released the first images from the filming of the cinematic adaptation of The Legend of Zelda and officially announced the start of production. These initial pictures showcase Zelda and Link, portrayed by Bo Bragason and Benjamin Ainsworth, respectively.

The company has not disclosed any further details, but based on the first images, the film appears to adopt a realistic style without cartoonish elements. According to information from the Alliance for Film and Television, filming is set to take place in New Zealand until April 7, 2026.

Wes Ball, known for his work on the Maze Runner film trilogy, will be directing. Meanwhile, the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto holds the role of producer. The plot promises a classic tale from the franchise, featuring the brave Link battling the villainous warlord Ganondorf, who is intent on seizing the Triforce and conquering the kingdom of Hyrule, with our protagonist standing in his way.

The premiere of The Legend of Zelda is scheduled for May 7, 2027. There is currently no information regarding a potential release in Russia.
