CD Projekt RED Takes Inspiration from Baldurs Gate III but Stays True to Its Own Vision

The game Baldur’s Gate III has captivated not only gamers but also developers. The RPG from Larian Studios received high praise at CD Projekt RED—however, this doesn’t imply that the Polish studio is abandoning its own vision for role-playing adventures.

In a discussion with PC Gamer, the CEO of CDPR, Michał Nowakowski, stated that the company will continue to pursue its own path, focusing on expanding ideas from The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077.

Within CD Projekt’s portfolio, there are both high-budget blockbusters and relatively smaller card-based spin-offs stemming from The Witcher series, such as GWENT and Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales. According to Nowakowski, internal teams at CDPR currently have no plans for similar spin-offs, as the studio is focused on its main projects.

It’s worth noting that the Polish company is working on multiple games, including The Witcher IV and Cyberpunk 2. The fourth installment of The Witcher is the closest to release; however, it will not hit the market before 2027.
