Rubljov: Feeling Better Physically This Year, UTS Tournament Boosts Endurance Training

The Olympic champion in mixed doubles from 2020 and the 16th-ranked player in the world, Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev, believes that his physical condition is better now than it was a year ago. He also mentioned that competing in the UTS Final Tournament aids in building his stamina.

«I think I’m in much better shape compared to last year. Of course, I’m feeling significantly better.

This is very beneficial for my training because here you work on endurance, but with emotions involved, which makes it even more challenging. To build stamina, you often have to switch off and push through the pain. But in this setting, you endure while experiencing emotions and need to think. It’s like an endurance workout that surpasses what players usually do in gyms or during practice sessions on the courts,» Rublev’s words are cited by the official UTS website.
