The Game Awards Breaks Records with 171 Million Views as Popularity Soars

The popularity and audience reach of The Game Awards ceremony has been increasing for the eleventh consecutive year, according to the organizers, particularly producer and host Geoff Keighley.

To recall, the inaugural The Game Awards took place in 2014, attracting 1.9 million viewers. Since then, the event’s popularity has only grown.

In 2025, the highlight of the ceremony was the game **Clair Obscur: Expedition 33** from the French studio **Sandfall Interactive**. The game was nominated in thirteen categories and won nine awards, setting a record for the most wins by a single title at TGA. The broadcast also featured numerous announcements, including two **Tomb Raider** games and new titles set in the **Star Wars** universe, among others. However, this year’s presentation did not sit well with viewers—nearly 40% of the audience gave The Game Awards 2025 a low rating.
