Bitdeer to Establish Bitcoin Miner Production in Reno, Nevada Translation: Bitdeer to Establish Bitcoin Miner Production in Reno, Nevada

Bitdeer Technologies Group has leased a logistics facility in Reno, Nevada, to establish the production of SEALMINER ASIC miners. Bitdeer Industrial, a subsidiary of Bitdeer, will operate the facility.

Under the agreement with property owner Dermody, a significant renovation will take place in approximately 16,900 square meters of space to support the planned operations.

«We are excited about the opportunity to establish ourselves in Reno and to open our flagship manufacturing and assembly plant in the United States,» said Catherine Gao, CEO of Bitdeer Industrial.

According to her, the choice of location was driven by:

Setting up the enterprise in the U.S. is considered by Gao to be part of Bitdeer’s long-term strategy aimed at advancing the design of «next-generation chips and strengthening the mining equipment ecosystem.»

The United States maintains a leading share of about 40% in the global Bitcoin hashrate, remaining a premium market for equipment manufacturers. The latter have intensified the localization of assembly operations in the country following the announcement of «relief tariffs» by President Donald Trump. As a result of these new tariffs, imports from jurisdictions where major ASIC miner assembly plants are located have increased in price by 24-36%.

Additionally, since autumn 2024, U.S. authorities have begun detaining shipments of imported equipment from industry leader Bitmain. In February, the situation worsened, affecting the import of MicroBT and Canaan units.

All these companies announced their localization of assembly in the U.S. Since June, Canaan has been expanding its manufacturing capabilities in the country. According to MicroBT, the first deliveries from the local facility were made as early as December 2023.

Recall that their competitor, Auradine, introduced the third generation of Bitcoin miners, Teraflux, in November which are fully manufactured from local components.
