From Assistant to Head Coach: Marcel Lichka on Roland Gusevs New Role

The former head coach of Orenburg and Moscow Dynamo, **[Marcel Lichka](https://www.example.com)**, shared his thoughts on **Roland Gusev**, who has been appointed as the head coach of the white-and-blues for the remainder of this season. Gusev was part of Lichka’s coaching staff at Dynamo.

«I believe that everything he has said since my departure, and after Karpen’s exit, has been driven by emotions. I had no issues with him. He can call me anytime, and I would be happy to talk. Everyone in my coaching staff had the chance to express their opinions about the lineup and other matters. It’s crucial to have people around you who can speak candidly. But of course, the final decision rested with me, and I justified my disagreements or aligned with other viewpoints when necessary. Both Roland, Mario, and Ade were always able to contribute their ideas.

Now, Roland will have full responsibility: for the team, the locker room, and the medical staff. Everything will fall on his shoulders, and he will be expected to deliver results in every match. Being an assistant and being the head coach are two very different roles. I wish Roland the best in lifting Dynamo as high as possible in the standings. He has everything he needs for that. He has good players, and he knows them well,» Lichka said, as reported by «In the World of Sports.»
