PS5 Launch of Avowed Set for February 17 with Anniversary Update Release

In December 2025, Obsidian Entertainment announced that a significant update for Avowed to mark the first anniversary of the game would be delayed until February. The release date has finally been confirmed for February 17, coinciding with the launch of the PlayStation 5 version.

This update will introduce a “New Game +” mode, a photo mode, a new type of weapon, the option to play as additional races (such as dwarves, orlans, and aumaua), among other features. The expansion will be available across all platforms.

As the lead character artist Dmitri Berman explained, the inclusion of more races in the character creator was discussed during the early stages of Avowed’s development. However, this idea was ultimately shelved due to the complexities involved in implementing it properly, particularly with the parkour system, combat mechanics, and diverse weaponry.
