How Much Weight Can You Lose on a Chocolate Diet?

An expert explained how excess weight can be lost in just a few days. Doctor Oleg Meleshchenko discussed what a shock diet is and how it affects weight and overall health. According to him, this weight loss method entails strict limitations on food intake (typically no more than 100 grams of chocolate per day) and usually lasts from one to three days, with a rare extension up to five days.

Those following this diet are allowed only two items: black coffee and dark chocolate. The average daily caloric intake on such a diet ranges from 500 to 700 calories. The doctor cautioned that weight loss in this scenario results from protein and fiber deficiency, dehydration, the laxative effect, and significant stress on the entire digestive system.

The expert emphasized that this type of diet should be undertaken only in extreme cases and is advised for healthy individuals aged 20 to 35 who do not show signs of being underweight and have no chronic illnesses. It is crucial that individuals do not have any gastrointestinal, liver, kidney, cardiovascular, or endocrine disorders.
