Anna Vyakhireva Bids Farewell to French Handball Club Brest Ahead of 2025/2026 Season

The press office of the French handball club Brest has announced that Russian player Anna Vyakhireva will be leaving the team at the end of the 2025/2026 season.

«I want to share that I’ve made the decision to part ways with the club after this season. It was an incredibly tough choice, and my journey will continue with a different team. However, the work is not done yet: I am fully focused on the goals we’ve set for ourselves. Let’s make this season truly remarkable!” said Anna Vyakhireva, as quoted by the club’s press office.

Anna Vyakhireva joined Brest from Norway’s Vipers in the summer of 2024 for a record fee of 170,000 euros, the highest ever for women’s handball. While with the French club, she became a vice-champion of the French league and reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League in the 2024/2025 season.
