Arshavin Addresses Claims His Goal Against Germany May Be Attributed to Kerzhakov

Former footballer of Zenit and the Russian national team, **Andrey Arshavin**, expressed his views on the incident involving a goal scored during a friendly match against Germany (2:2) in 2005, which may be credited to former forward **Alexander Kerzhakov**.

**Arshavin:** «I scored the goal. Regardless of my good feelings towards Kerzhakov, it was me who found the net. I think we should give Kerzhakov a chance. I tell them: ‘Bring in the Trinidad and Tobago team, and Kerzhakov will score. He’s ready.’ You can see he looks even better now than when he was actively playing football.»
**Kerzhakov:** «The most interesting part is that I can score against any opponent.»
**Journalist:** «Really?»
**Kerzhakov:** «Of course. Especially when you’re not playing, you can say whatever you want,» both Arshavin and Kerzhakov shared in a video on the Fonbet YouTube channel.

Earlier reports indicated that if this goal is officially attributed to Alexander Kerzhakov, he would catch up to Artem Dzyuba, who is currently one goal ahead at 31, after surpassing Alexander in a match against Grenada in spring 2025. Kerzhakov himself mentioned that he would be pleased if the goal is credited to him.
