Cancelled God of War Multiplayer Game Screenshots Leaked Online

At the beginning of this year, the publication Bloomberg reported on the cancellation of two service games by Sony, one of which was a project based on the God of War franchise developed by Bluepoint Games. Almost a year after the initial announcement, insider sources from the site MP1st leaked screenshots featuring environments and 3D models from the game.

The game’s architecture suggests that it was set in ancient Greece, likely prior to the events of God of War III, as indicated by the reference to Hades (although it remains unclear if this project was intended to be part of the canon). According to insiders, the god of the underworld was the owner of the sulfur pools and the armory depicted in the screenshots.

Details about the title remain sparse. Additionally, MP1st noted red growths appearing in specific areas, suggesting «corruption» that might have impacted gameplay. Ultimately, this project was shelved following the catastrophic failure of Concord. As a result, Bluepoint has shifted its focus to developing a new action title, which is currently awaiting an official announcement. Gamers can only hope that this game does not meet the same fate.

Regarding God of War, various sources indicate that two games are in development. Reputable insider Daniel Richtman claims that the story of the next flagship installment will unfold in Egypt. Simultaneously, notable insider Tom Henderson reported on the development of a 2.5D Metroidvania that will take players back to ancient Greece.
