Celebrating 25 Years of Fellowship: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Returns to Theaters in 4K

Warner Bros. and Fathom Entertainment have announced the re-release of the iconic «The Lord of the Rings» trilogy. All three films will be screened in 4K resolution across U.S. theaters in two formats: the director’s cut and the theatrical version.

The video can be found on the Fathom Entertainment YouTube channel, with the rights owned by Fathom Entertainment.

From January 16 to 19, audiences will have the chance to watch Peter Jackson’s extended trilogy. The standard versions are set to hit theaters a bit later, from January 23 to 25. AMC theater-goers can also look forward to themed popcorn buckets shaped like the map of Middle-earth and the One Ring.

This revival of the beloved trilogy celebrates the 25th anniversary of «The Fellowship of the Ring,» the first installment of the series. The total runtime for the director’s cuts is approximately 11.5 hours, while the regular versions run just over 9 hours.
