Chasing Victory: Fernando Alonso Reflects on the 2025 Season and Future Aspirations

The 44-year-old Spanish driver and two-time Formula 1 champion, Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin, shared his thoughts on the 2025 season outcomes.

«This year, we can’t be overly satisfied. We had a car that was quite challenging to handle, and we finished seventh in the Constructors’ Championship, so there’s not much to be proud of. While my personal performances were decent, and we ended the championship competitive with drivers and teams we technically shouldn’t have been racing against—that’s nice, but it doesn’t carry much weight. In Formula 1, you either win or you don’t, and this year, we didn’t secure a single victory and were even far from doing so.

Austin, Mexico City, Brazil, Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi—there were many time zone changes, plenty of travel, and numerous flights. I’m ready for the season to end so I can rest and prepare well for next year. I’m pleased: finishing seventh in Qatar and sixth here netted us more points than I anticipated.

What would I do in a fast car? I would be fighting for first place. That’s what we are aiming for,» Alonso stated during an interview with DAZN.
