Chicago Bulls to Retire Derrick Roses Jersey Number in a Special Ceremony

The Chicago Bulls, a team in the National Basketball Association (NBA), will retire the jersey number once worn by Derrick Rose. The club’s press service announced that the ceremonial event will take place on January 24, 2026, following a matchup against the Boston Celtics during the regular season.

Derrick Rose was selected by the Bulls as the first overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. He earned the title of NBA Rookie of the Year and was named the league’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2011. Rose participated in the NBA All-Star Game three times from 2010 to 2012. He played for Chicago from 2008 to 2016 and concluded his career with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2024.
