Coventry Confirms IOC Has Not Discussed Israels Potential Exclusion from the 2026 Olympics

The President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Kirsty Coventry, has confirmed that the Executive Board has not discussed the conditions for Israel’s suspension from the 2026 Olympic Games due to the ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip.

The Olympics in Italy are scheduled to take place from February 6 to 23, 2026. Russian athletes will compete under a neutral status, with the exact number of participants to be determined later. Meanwhile, the IOC Executive Board is currently meeting in Milan. It’s important to note that Coventry assumed the role of president of the organization on June 23.
