Creative Director of The Blood of Dawnwalker Discusses Romantic Elements and an Interactive Antagonist

While the Polish studio **Rebel Wolves** is busy preparing new video content for their action RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker, additional information about the project continues to surface online. This time, creative director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, known to gamers for his role as the lead quest designer on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and quest director on Cyberpunk 2077, shared some insights.

Firstly, Tomaszkiewicz confirmed that the game will feature romantic relationships. The protagonist, Cohen, will have the opportunity to engage in romances that will develop throughout the storyline. However, the exact number of characters available for these romances remains unknown.

Of particular interest are Tomaszkiewicz’s comments regarding the main antagonist, who will actively respond to the actions of the hero. The central villain, Brencis, depicted in the debut trailer, is a former renowned Roman politician whose career in the Senate ended when he became a vampire.

Brencis retains his thirst for power, which leads him to assemble a vampire clique, emerge from the shadows, and openly dominate mortals, fostering a quasi-religious cult of personality around himself. It is Brencis who kidnaps Cohen’s loved ones, setting the stage for the game’s narrative.

According to Tomaszkiewicz, Brencis won’t simply be waiting in his castle for Cohen to confront him. On the contrary, he will actively respond to the protagonist’s actions based on how Cohen chooses to engage him. Players can openly challenge Brencis’s authority right from the beginning or operate stealthily, seeking allies and uncovering the villain’s weaknesses.
