Dimitrov Returns to ATP Action for First Time Since Wimbledon 2025, Faces Rublev in Paris

The 37th-ranked Bulgarian tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov, held his first practice session on the ATP tournament courts following an injury he sustained at Wimbledon 2025. The 34-year-old athlete is set to compete in the Masters event in Paris, France, where he will face French player Giovanni Mpetchi Perricar in the opening round.

During his practice, Dimitrov had a friendly encounter with Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev, with whom he shares a good relationship.

In July at Wimbledon 2025, Dimitrov suffered an injury during his match against Italian player Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals. Leading two sets to none, he was forced to retire in the third set (6-3, 7-5, 2-2 — retired). He was later diagnosed with a partial tear of the pectoral major muscle.
