Dzyukov: Russia Would Qualify for World Cup and Euro Without Disqualification

The president of the Russian Football Union (RFU), **[Alexander Djukov](https://www.example.com/tags/2699-djukov/)**, shared his thoughts on the performance of the Russian national team. He speculated that the team could have qualified for both the World Cup and the European Championship if it hadn’t been suspended from official matches.

«I see a competitive team that, if it were allowed to take part in the qualifying tournaments for the World Cup or European Championship, would likely qualify and perform quite well,» Djukov’s words were reported by «RIA Novosti Sport.»

This month, the Russian national team played two friendly matches. On October 10, Valery Karpin’s squad defeated Iran 2-1. On October 14, they came out on top against Bolivia, winning 3-0. Russian teams have been banned from participating in FIFA and UEFA tournaments since 2022.
