Ethereum устанавливает новые горизонты: рекордные 2,2 миллиона транзакций за сутки Translation: Ethereum Sets New Horizons: Record 2.2 Million Transactions in One Day

The second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization has achieved a new milestone: processing 2.2 million transactions in a single day.

Transaction fees on Ethereum have dropped to historic lows ($0.17), in stark contrast to the peak levels of 2022 (over $200).

Thanks to ongoing blockchain updates, transaction costs continue to decrease. A significant factor in this decline has been the shift to a Proof-of-Stake model and the implementation of a fee-burning mechanism as part of EIP-1559.

The reduction in transaction fees has also been aided by Pectra and Fusaka, which were deployed in 2025. The first upgrade optimized the validator infrastructure and enhanced staking flexibility, while the latter increased the network’s base throughput by 33%, raising the gas limit from 45 to 60 million per block.

This technical efficiency has drawn in investors, with Artemis analysts naming Ethereum the top performer of the year in terms of net capital inflow, reporting $4.2 billion.

In the fourth quarter, the number of new smart contracts on Ethereum reached an all-time high of 8.7 million, according to Token Terminal.

Analysts attribute this growth to the organic development of three areas: RWA, stablecoin activity, and enhancements to the underlying infrastructure.

“Ethereum is quietly becoming a global settlement layer,” experts emphasized.

The second-largest cryptocurrency network continues to lead in the tokenization sector, accounting for $12 billion of the total market value of $19 billion in this domain.

Additionally, Ethereum holds the top position in the stablecoin market. According to DeFi Llama, the ecosystem’s share of the total circulating stablecoin volume surpasses $167 billion.

As a reminder, at the end of December, the waiting list for Ethereum staking doubled exceeding withdrawal requests.
