First Post-Release Patch for Hades II to Enhance True Ending Experience

The game  Hades II has officially launched out of early access to rave reviews from both critics and players. However, even a title of this caliber has faced criticism—some users have criticized the true ending of Melinoë’s story. Supergiant Games has announced that they will address this issue in the first post-release patch.

According to the announcement, new events will be added both before and after the actual conclusion. As a result, the number of runs needed to reach the finale in the Underworld will increase. Some elements of the ending prior to the credits will also be updated. The team aims to create a more coherent and expanded lead-up to the conclusion, as there have been complaints within the community that the events leading to the ending occur too rapidly and superficially.

If you have already completed Hades II, there’s no need to be disappointed. For this occasion, a spell will be introduced that allows players to return to an earlier point in the story and explore the changes made in the update. Additionally, after the patch, character-related prophecies will progress faster, and the cost of decor at the Crossroads will be reduced (with refunds available for those who have already spent their resources). The update will also include balance adjustments, bug fixes, and more. You can find the complete patch notes here.

Currently, the update is available as a preview on Steam. To try out this early build, make sure to back up your saves, as the update may contain technical issues. Then, access the context menu by right-clicking on Hades II. Select “Properties,” head to the «Betas» tab, toggle the switch, and wait for the update to download.

Hades II has already been released on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and both versions of the Nintendo Switch. The game was in early access from May 4, 2024, to September 25, 2025. A Russian text translation is available.
