From a Failed Jump to Ice Dance: Victoria Sinitsinas Journey

The silver medalist of the 2022 Olympic Games and world champion, **[Victoria Sinitsina](https://example.com)**, reflected on her decision to transition to ice dancing. She gained fame through her performances with **Nikita Katsalapov**, who later became her husband.

«I skated in singles until I was nine! After a bad fall during a jump, I became afraid of jumping. But my parents and coach supported me. I smoothly transitioned to dance and never wanted to go back. On the contrary, I would tell everyone how wonderful it was, how amazing it felt to skate with a partner and do something new for myself. I still remember those feelings, even though it has been 22 years,» Sinitsina shared on her personal social media page.

It’s worth noting that the last time the figure skaters took to the ice was in 2022 during the Olympic Games in Beijing, where they earned silver medals. In the team event, they finished first as part of the Russian team, but due to the subsequent disqualification of Kamila Valieva, they were moved down to third place.
