Gothic Remake Developers Unveil Enhanced Combat System Improvements

A few months ago, during the gamescom 2025 exhibition, players had the opportunity to try out the latest demo of the Gothic 1 Remake. Since then, many have pointed out that the combat system was not particularly impressive, a concern that the developers at Alkimia Interactive have pledged to address before the game’s release. Yesterday, they shared a dedicated post on Steam aimed at showcasing some of the improvements made.

Over the past three months, the creators have refined animations and enhanced the responsiveness of the protagonist’s attacks. The progress doesn’t stop here, as the developers are committed to further enhancing various gameplay elements, including the AI of enemies.

Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2026 on PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, complete with full Russian localization.
