GANA Payment теряет $3,1 млн в результате атаки на BNB Chain Translation: GANA Payment loses $3.1 million in attack on BNB Chain

The GANA Payment project on the BNB Chain was hacked, leading to the theft of over $3.1 million. This was reported by on-chain investigator ZachXBT.

According to the researcher, the hackers consolidated the stolen funds in a wallet within the Binance-related network, exchanging part of the assets for BNB. They then transferred 1,140 BNB (approximately $1.04 million) to the crypto mixer Tornado Cash.

The remaining coins were converted into 346.8 ETH (around $1.05 million) and left on an Ethereum address.

The GANA team acknowledged the attack, emphasizing that the developers have already initiated an investigation in collaboration with an external blockchain security firm.

“We have launched a comprehensive restoration plan for the project. As part of these measures, a full verification of all user asset addresses and their associated permissions will be conducted. A detailed work schedule and recovery milestones will be published shortly,” representatives of the platform stated.

GANA Payment is a modest payment project featuring the GANA token based on the BEP-20 standard. The protocol primarily operates through decentralized exchanges and on-chain liquidity pools. Public technical documentation is limited.

In light of the incident, the price of the GANA coin plummeted by more than 90%. At the time of writing, the asset is trading at $0.2, with a market capitalization of $2.5 million.

Since the beginning of November, the number of attacks on projects within the BNB Chain ecosystem has sharply increased. Over a span of 20 days, hackers stole a total of $129 million. In comparison, the figure for the previous month was $16.6 million.

It is worth noting that on November 3, the DeFi protocol Balancer was hacked, suffering losses exceeding $128 million as a result of the incident.
