Gasly Reflects on Bahrain GP: Our Focus Was to Keep Max Behind

The driver for Alpine, **Pierre Gasly**, shared his thoughts on his performance at the Bahrain Grand Prix, where he ultimately finished in seventh place, earning six points for his team.

«I’m really pleased for the entire team that we scored our first points of the season with a seventh-place finish. We lost a position to Max Verstappen on the final lap, which is a bit disappointing, but considering he won last week, we can only learn from these experiences.

Starting from fourth on the grid was a good kickoff, and we managed to stay near the front during the opening stint. We were a bit unfortunate with the timing of the safety car following our second pit stop to switch to hard tires. Overall, things went smoothly right until the end; we just tried to keep Max behind us, but we ran out of tires and lost the position.

Now, we’ll focus on Jeddah, where we hope to be competitive. The car felt good in the high-speed corners; I was impressed with its performance here, and I hope we can replicate that in Saudi Arabia next weekend and be a strong contender again,» said Gasly, as reported by the Alpine press service.
