Hauser Celebrates Career Milestone with Pursuit Victory in Östersund

Austrian biathlete Liza Teresa Hauzer shared her thoughts on winning the pursuit race at the first stage of the 2025/2026 World Cup in Östersund, Sweden.

“The past few years have been quite challenging for me. I’ve had individual victories in every race except the pursuit, which has been one of my major career goals—winning in that event. Today, that goal was achieved. With zero mistakes, the race was nearly perfect for me. I’m so happy that I can hardly believe it!

I heard from spectators that Minkkinen missed a shot, but I focused on my own performance. I didn’t pay attention to her targets, only listening to the crowd. I aimed to turn those black targets white. I succeeded today, and it feels incredible!

The final lap was exhilarating. At first, I doubted I could catch up with her. But somehow, I got closer and closer, and the gap decreased. I pushed myself to the limit. I’m thrilled and was able to enjoy the finish,” Hauzer’s words were reported by the IBU press service.
