Anthropic is preparing to raise $10 billion in new funding. The developer of the chatbot Claude is targeting a valuation of $350 billion, according to sources cited by the WSJ.

The funding round will be led by Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and investment firm Coatue Management.

This new valuation nearly doubles the figures from September of last year, when the startup was valued at $183 billion following the completion of a $13 billion Series F round.

In addition to the main round, Nvidia and Microsoft are reportedly looking to invest up to $15 billion more into Anthropic, according to sources. The parties expect to finalize the deal in the coming weeks, though the total investment amount may be adjusted.

Company leadership anticipates reaching profitability by 2028, which is ahead of the plans of their main competitor, OpenAI. Anthropic also aims to conduct an IPO by 2026.

The excitement surrounding AI startups remains strong following a record-setting year in 2025. According to Crunchbase, the artificial intelligence sector attracted around 50% of total global venture capital in the past 12 months.

Total investments exceeded $200 billion, with the largest deal during this period being OpenAI’s $41 billion funding backed by SoftBank.

In December, U.S. tech giants formed the Agentic AI Foundation alliance to standardize AI agents.
