KHL Disciplinary Committee Chairman Kamensky Explains Dronovs Five-Game Suspension Reasons

The chairman of the KHL’s Disciplinary Committee, **[Valery Kamensky](https://www.khl.ru/tags/11128-kamenskij/)**, commented on the Disciplinary Committee’s decision to suspend **Grigory Dronov**, a defenseman for Traktor, for five games due to his push against the linesman during the match against Avtomobilist (3:5).

“The committee closely reviewed the incident from the match between Avtomobilist and Traktor, where Grigory Dronov was penalized for making physical contact with the game officials. In this case, the player was aware of the linesman’s presence and had the opportunity to avoid the collision, but instead chose to strike the official in the back with his stick. The protective gear worn by officials is lighter than that of players, making such actions particularly dangerous. Considering all these aspects, the Disciplinary Committee reached a unanimous decision to impose a five-game suspension,” Kamensky’s comments were reported by the KHL press service.
