Kicking Off Console Fighting: 2XKO Launches on PS5 and Xbox Series in January 2026

PC gamers are having a great time with the free-to-play fighting game 2XKO, featuring champions from League of Legends, which launched in early access on the popular platform in early October. Now, news has emerged for console players as well. Riot Games announced that the game will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in January.

“We know how eagerly everyone has been waiting for the console release. We’re just as excited for you to finally get to play this version,” said game director Shaun Rivera, encouraging players to add 2XKO to their wish lists on the PS Store and Microsoft Store. More updates about the fighting game will be revealed during The Game Awards, which will take place on December 12 at 3:30 AM Moscow time.

In addition, the teams clarified their competitive plans. Riot aims to support existing tournaments for 2XKO: allocating budgets, contributing to prize pools, and providing advertising. Five major tournaments and fifteen smaller-scale events (or “challengers”) are already scheduled for 2026. “Think of 2XKO Challenger as regional competitions,” explained eSports director Michael Sherman. Each in-game season will feature one major tournament and three smaller ones.

In the first season of 2XKO, developers will introduce the Frame Perfect skin set, focusing on eSports themes. A portion of the proceeds from this sale will go towards supporting fighting competitions around the globe.
