Kickstarter Launch for IMMORTAL: A Unique Roguelike Experience Blending Kung Fu Noir and Buddhist Mythology

Last night, the team from the independent Estonian studio **Mishura Games** launched a [Kickstarter campaign](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/weareimmortal/immortal-and-the-death-that-follows) for their debut action roguelike titled **IMMORTAL: And The Death That Follows**. The developers aim to raise €25,000 to fund the project. At the time of this news, enthusiastic gamers have already contributed over €8,000, with 29 days remaining in the campaign.

It’s worth mentioning that **Mishura Games** was founded in 2020 by key creators of **Aeon Must Die!** from **Limestone Games**. The developers lost the rights to their creation during a [conflict with the studio management](https://stopgame.ru/newsdata/50361/ekshen_aeon_must_die_vyshel_nesmotrya_na_protesty_byvshikh_razrabotchikov). Consequently, they left the project before its completion, while **Limestone** released a flawed version that predictably underperformed in sales.

Returning to **IMMORTAL: And The Death That Follows**, the team released a [demo on itch.io](https://mishuragames.itch.io/immortal-and-the-death-that-follows) at the beginning of the fundraising period, allowing interested players to experience the upcoming title. This demo will receive updates throughout the campaign, with the initial version 0.0.21.17 dated for 2024 and a file size of 13 GB.

The developers at **Mishura Games** describe **IMMORTAL** as a «prison drama infused with kung fu noir elements inspired by Buddhist myths.» Players are encouraged to create their own unique combat style while attempting to escape captivity by battling numerous enemies and deadly bosses, including the main antagonist known as the Pursuing Death.

The protagonist is an Immortal, meaning players do not need to worry about a health bar. Instead, they must maintain a balance between the Creator and Destroyer combat styles. If this balance is disrupted, the character can die from any damage, though they can also defeat foes in a single hit. Each combat style offers its own set of abilities.

As players progress, they’ll build relationships with other prisoners. Depending on the choices made, allies can become enemies and vice versa. Additionally, a co-op mode is available, where one player controls the Creator form and the other the Destroyer.
