Leaked Screenshots Reveal Cancelled Warhammer 40,000 MMO by Jackalyptic Games

In mid-November, news circulated online about the demise of an unannounced MMO set in the **Warhammer** universe, which was being developed by **Jackalyptic Games** with financial backing from **NetEase**. A month later, additional information about the canceled project surfaced on the MP1st portal, along with some screenshots.

Recent leaks have revealed that **Jackalyptic Games** was specifically tasked with developing **Warhammer 40K**. The first images of the now-defunct game were found in the portfolio of a former artist from the studio, showcasing destroyed buildings on Prospero and various 3D models.

**Jackalyptic Games** was established in the spring of 2022 as NetEase’s first North American studio. The team was led by industry veteran **Jack Emmert**, who had prior experience working on MMOs such as **Neverwinter**, **DC Universe Online**, and **City of Heroes**.

The studio faced closure due to a reevaluation of funding by **NetEase**, as the company began to lose interest in Western developers. In addition to **Jackalyptic Games**, other studios affected included **Fantastic Pixel Castle**, **T-Minus Zero Entertainment**, and **Bad Brain Game Studios**.
