Magnus Carlsen Defeats ChatGPT Without Losing a Single Piece

The 16th World Chess Champion, Magnus Carlsen, shared his match against ChatGPT, in which the Norwegian triumphed without losing any pieces. The game lasted for 53 minutes.

“Sometimes I get bored during my travels,” Carlsen wrote on his social media, posting screenshots of the game with the artificial intelligence.

“I concede. It was methodical, clear, and precise. Your play displayed several strengths. I would estimate your abilities at around 1800-2000 FIDE points, or even higher if your tactical skills remain sharp,” ChatGPT told Carlsen, according to the screenshots the Norwegian shared.

It’s worth noting that in June, Carlsen lost to 15-year-old Russian player Maxim Ivannikov from Moscow in the third round of the online blitz tournament «Title Tuesday.»
